The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are right here: flagships geared up to shake things up

Apple unveils its iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. For the first time, the Apple brand creates an actual difference between the two fashions, booking the periscopic telephoto lens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

At its September conference, Apple unveiled the brand new iPhone 15. As in previous years, Apple is offering  awesome ranges: the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus on the only hand, and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max on the opposite.

The latter constantly feature Apple's trendy innovations, and this year is no exception. This year is not any exception, besides that the 15 Pro Max incorporates some extra technologies.

The iPhone 15 Pro: the same length as an iPhone, but barely larger than an iPhone

For a start, the overall design retains the look of the iPhone 14 Pro. Dynamic Island, the flat edges, the iconic design.

But there are three notable new features: the first is the arrival of an action button that replaces the switch that used to switch to silent mode. This button offers a host of customization options and can perform numerous actions.

USB-C, but Pro

As with the rest of the range, the iPhone 15 Pro also features USB-C. But not just any USB-C. But not just any USB-C. Unlike the iPhone 15s, which are limited to USB-C in USB 2.0, the Pro models feature USB 3.0. The resulting transfer speed is much higher. From 480 Mb/s (60 Mb/s) to 10 Gb/s (1.25 Gb/s).

For all those who like to capture video with their smartphone, this new feature makes sense, as it will enable them to quickly copy a video to a PC or Mac. To take advantage of it, however, you'll need a compatible cable that Apple doesn't supply as standard.

The new UWB chip presented during the conference should boost the Ultra Wide Band capabilities of the iPhone and its accessories, including the Apple AirTags.
This new cable does not, however, provide access to higher charging speeds. It's wireless charging that simply improves with MagSafe.

For the rest, Apple is integrating its new 3 nm A17 Pro chip into its high-end smartphones. It is reserved for Pro models. We also find the same photographic configuration as on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, namely a 48-megapixel wide-angle main sensor, an ultra-wide-angle sensor and an X3 telephoto lens.
Second notable design innovation: the arrival of titanium edges, which reduce the smartphone's weight by 10%, while promising greater solidity.
Third major design addition: the edges around the screen have been further reduced in size.

iPhone 15 Pro Max: an ultra zoom

Ultra or not? After weeks of leaks, Apple has decided: no iPhone 15 Ultra, but an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
While the latter doesn't change its name, it has all the trappings of an iPhone 15 Ultra, since it offers an upscale upgrade compared to the classic iPhone 15 Pro, which is a small first. The classics are back: bigger screen size, bigger battery, as we already know, but it's in photography where the Max model pulls out all the stops.

Apple has chosen to replace the telephoto lens with a new photo module, a periscopic telephoto lens. This offers a higher zoom factor, from X3 to X5.

The iPhone 15 Pro will be available for pre-order from Friday September 15, and will go on sale from September 22, as will the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Prices start at $799 for the smaller model and $1,199 for the Pro Max.
